What’s the buzz about?

As part of the instructional element of this site, new videos will be available each week featuring the authors of the book Lies Young Women Believe teaching and discussing the concepts of the book with young women like you. As you can see by our first video, we are pretty excited about the message of this book, but you might be wondering “What’s all the buzz about?”

This clip is part of an evening of discussion facilitated by Nancy Leigh DeMoss and Dannah Gresh. Several young women who represent readers just like you joined Nancy and Dannah for an evening of frank and open dialogue. These ladies confirmed what months of research during the development of the book revealed.

You are a part of a generation of women who have been lied to. You have likely joined countless others in being deceived. It is not likely that you recognize the deception since lies are difficult to detect … but we are convinced that deception always leads to bondage and that many of you can benefit from the exposure of lies in your life and the replacement of those lies with God’s Truth.

This video gives you a taste of the kind of lies we have identified as areas of struggle. Things like “I’m ugly” or “I need a boyfriend” or “Having a career outside the home is more valuable and fulfilling than being ‘just’ a wife and mom.” Does any of this stir your heart? Can you identify with any of the ladies in the tape as they begin to open up about areas where they’ve been deceived? Is it possible that there are unexposed lies in your own life? If so, do you know how to begin the process of replacing those lies with truth?

I wonder if I could be so bold as to ask you the same questions that are asked in this clip. What lies are you believing? What lies do you think the women of your generation have fallen for? We’d love to hear from you.

HEY, GIRLS! We love hearing from you, but feel limited in the ways we can help. For one thing, we’re not trained counselors. If you’re seeking counsel, we encourage you to talk to your pastor or a godly woman in your life as they’ll know more details and can provide you with ongoing accountability and help.
