What Worries You About This School Year? (And A Freebie!)

I don’t have to tell you that school’s back in session. Most of you have been hitting the books for a week or two already, and the lucky few of you who still have a few summer days left likely have your clothes bought, your pencils sharpened, and your backpacks packed.

School can be great! It is, after all, the place where we learn so much about the world and people around us. But, as Christians, school can also be tough. Even in Christian schools, there are plenty of opportunities to choose to follow the crowd and many messages being sent that don’t line up perfectly with the truth found in God’s Word.

For example, earlier this month we ran a post on the subject of evolution. It’s a topic that might have been far from your mind while you were enjoying the dog days of summer, but as soon as a science classroom becomes a part of your daily routine, you’ll be faced with choices about what to believe about how we got here and how to defend your faith when your teachers tout evolution as a scientific fact.

Standing strong in science class probably won’t be the only challenge you face this school year. And we want to help. The goal of this blog is to help young women, just like you, recognize areas of deception and replace them with God’s truth. Whether it’s mean girls in the lunch room, boys who wait for you by your locker, or the trying to decide how to balance church, school, and home, we want to write about the things that concern you about the coming school year.

That’s why we’re opening the blog up once again to your ideas. And, since we’re already feeling generous this week, we are willing to sweeten the deal. We will give away copies of Lies Young Women Believe with the companion guide at random to five of you who leave us a comment and tell us what challenges you face as you head back to school.

Did you catch how easy that was?

  1. Leave us a comment telling us what challenges you expect to face this school year and how we can help. Lies Young Women Believe and Companion Guide
  2. We will choose five of you at random.
  3. Those lucky winners will each receive a free copy of Lies Young Women Believe and the LYWB Companion Guide!

Free books about God’s truth ought to help make packing for school more fun! We can’t wait to hear from you.
