SO, Your Lamp Is Full But…

One of the coolest things I know about God is found in Luke 15:7,10. It says that the angels rejoice in heaven when one sinner repents. That says to me that God is having a party at that moment. How about it girls? Let’s plan some parties for our God!

If you checked in recently, you saw the post I wrote asking “Which Kind of Bridesmaid Are You?” Perhaps you are the kind who could honestly say that your “lamp” is filled with “oil.” You know without a doubt that you have asked Christ to be the Lord of your life and you are living out that salvation daily by walking in holiness. Your lamp is full.

Who have you led to Christ lately?

Crunch. Sorry! Didn’t mean to step on your toes. But really, it’s one thing to be filled with that oil, but there is time right now where you and I are commanded to share it. “Go into all the world and preach the gospel.” Apparently, there will be a time when it’s too late. The five foolish bridesmaids in Matthew 25 begged and pleaded with the five wise ones to share some oil. I wonder, will there be a momentary awareness of Christ’s coming where we see our friends weep and beg to come with us?

Recently, my pastor showed a clip of Penn and Teller’s agnostic Penn Jillette talking about a Christian who recently gave him a copy of a Bible after one of their shows in Las Vegas. It was beautiful because Jillette actually had a grateful heart because the man who gave him the Bible was so nice. He did not come to know Christ, but he did think about something really profound. He said something like this: “If you really believe that a person has to be saved to go to heaven, how much do you have to hate that person not to share the gospel with them?”

Who have you shared the gospel with? Write about it here. Were you afraid? What were the results? Let’s share some “God Party” stories to encourage one another to share the oil of salvation!
