She’s Trusted Jesus for Almost 100 Years

Gray hair is a crown of glory; it is gained in a righteous life (Prov. 16:31).

There have been zillions of books written about men and women with extraordinary faith in Christ, but it’s a rare treat to actually chat with these heroes face-to-face. Recently, I was able to talk with a little ninety-five-year-old, white-haired lady who has been growing in her relationship with the Lord since the 1930s.

Nan (or Nanny Rose as her friends call her) has been through more hardships in life than many of us will ever experience and has had just as many highlights. Through every high and low, Nanny Rose knew that God was at work.

When I sat down with Nan, I wanted to know the secrets to her rock-solid faith.

  • What’s kept her going since 1921?
  • What advice would she give to a young person who’s looking to stay rooted in their faith and grow closer to the Lord?

Her answers reveal a lady who is focused on others and motivated by a desire to run her race well.

I’d like to hear from you!

What stood out to you in my conversation with Nan?
Does something from our chat apply directly to a situation you’re in right now?
Who are your Christian heroes? What have you learned from their lives?
