I Found Your Perfect Man in Tennessee

The first session of the True Woman Conference has barely begun and already I’m encouraged. Nancy led thousands of us in prayer a moment ago to open the conference. She asked us to participate with our hands.

First, we held our hands palms down, symbolizing turning over the burdens that we currently carry. Symbolically, we let go of whatever was bothering us, causing us pain or stressing us out.

Then, we turned our hands over and lifted our palms up. We hold our hands up when we are ready to receive something. In this case, we are ready to receive whatever the Lord has for us. For some of us it may be a fresh dose of His love, for others it may be His Truth, or rest, or peace. Still others may receive His salvation for the first time in this place.

It doesn’t matter where you are reading this post; your palms are itching to do what mine just did. Right where you are, will you turn your palms down? Will you tell the Lord that you release whatever is troubling you right now? Whatever it is, He can handle it.

Philippians 4:6 says, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”

Whatever you are holding on to let it go. Give it to Him. And then, turn your palms upward (don’t worry about looking silly). What do you want to receive from Him today? Do you need a heavy dose of His love? Do you need to know how His Truth applies to your life? Are you ready to receive His gift of grace for the first time?

James 1:17 says, “Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.”

I wonder what good and perfect gift He has in mind for you.

Oh girls, I wish you were here (I know, I keep saying that!). But fortunately for all of us, you can respond to Him no matter where you are. Will you let your hands do the responding? I can’t wait to hear about it.
