Because of the previous persecution of Christians, the churches were small but the people in them were very dedicated. They sang in worship with all their hearts, and even though there were only ten or twelve people in the congregation, they were louder than all fifteen of us Americans combined. This is because they know what it is to risk everything to follow Christ.
The story of David and Goliath is likely familiar to you, but maybe it’s about more than a boy with five smooth stones taking on a trash-talking giant. Maybe it’s a story with something to show us about the heart of Jesus. Maybe it is the exact message of hope you need as you face "giants" today.
You’ve done so much for me, such as killing all those spiders, helping with those horrid math problems that only made sense when you explained them, taking me out to eat and shopping on our daddy/daughter nights, and encouraging me on to purity. I can’t say thank you enough for the wonderful dad that you have been to me.
