Have you checked out truewoman.com lately? If not, you should! Think of that site like the wise, older sister of this blog. There is gobs of great content there about how to be a godly woman.
In fact, LYWB.com’s own phendricks recently had a great idea for a post on truewoman.com that I couldn’t help but steal. She posted a series of videos on a variety of topics and asked her readers to respond. You can read her original post here.
I’ve gathered a collection of videos that I found thought-provoking. They don’t have a common theme, but they will all help you think about God and the world around you in new ways.
So … go ahead. Pop some popcorn. Curl up in your favorite spot, and consider this LYWB.com movie time! But don’t run out during the credits. Be sure to leave us a comment to let us know your thoughts on each video. And come back tomorrow for another movie break.
Francis Chan on Hell
I don’t know about you, but as a Christian, I wrestle with the reality of hell. Author Francis Chan (Crazy Love, The Forgotten God) tackles this subject with humility and biblical truth.
Remembering Joplin
It’s been more than two months since a massive tornado ripped a 14-mile path of destruction through Joplin, Missouri, killing 153 people. Our tendency is to pray for those impacted by such tragedies at the beginning, but when the news coverage dwindles, they drop off our prayer list. The people of Joplin still need our prayers. Homes are still destroyed. Families are still grieving the loss of loved ones. Christian groups are still on site ministering daily to those who have suffered losses. A member of our own team, Chiree Bollinger, lives in Joplin and shot this video to help encourage the people effected by the storm and to remind us to keep praying.
I Need a Boyfriend
Here’s an oldie but a goodie straight from our own video page (bet you didn’t know that was there!) To promote Lies Young Women Believe, Nancy Leigh DeMoss and Dannah Gresh recorded several radio programs about the book. Here is a video recording of them discussing one of the top lies from the book, “I need a boyfriend.” Does the way they describe young women struggling with a sense of worth accurately describe you?
