Looking for a few good reads in 2019? Our bloggers have five book recommendations for you!

Take a look at their picks and why they chose each one.

  1. Liza’s Pick: Evidence Not Seen: A Woman’s Miraculous Faith in the Jungles of World War II by Darlene Rose

This missionary’s story is so incredible! The true story of a woman who trusted God fully, no matter the cost. I was so impacted by the way Darlene kept persevering, following God’s call and trusting Him for everything she needed.

  1. Beecher’s Pick: All In: You Are One Decision Away from a Totally Different Life by Mark Batterson

It really challenged me to be ALL IN for Jesus, not just “half in, half out.” Fantastic book.

  1. Sarah’s Pick: Do Hard Things: A Teenage Rebellion Against Low Expectations by Alex and Brett Harris

This book challenges teens to live above the status quo and use their teen years in an active way to discover their gifts and work for God. I wish every teen would read it!

  1. Erin’s Pick: The Original Watercolor Paintings of the Birds of America by John James Audubon

I have my grandmother’s copy (along with all of the rest of her bird books), and I look at them over and over and over and over. I guess they remind me of her, but they also remind me that I love and serve a God who is infinitely creative. Birds have a unique way of lifting my eyes off my to-do list.

  1. Leanna’s Pick: Searching for Spring by Christine Hoover

I picked up this book at just the right time in my life for a much-needed reminder that God is always at work, and that I should look for His beauty in the unexpected. One surprise was finding themes of hope and joy from the book of Ecclesiastes! I also love how she uses changing seasons and the weather to describe the longings and struggles we experience in various stages of life. I can’t recommend this book highly enough! (I guess that’s why I wrote an entire blog post about it!)
